Talacre play centre
welcome to talacre play centre
Our Playcentre provides high quality play opportunities for children Year 1 to Year 8. Located in Kentish Town, we are adjacent to the green space of Talacre Park and Talacre Community Sports Centre. We offer multi-level indoor space and an expansive outdoor play area with garden.
We have a well-established, highly skilled and experienced staff team, who are committed to ensuring that children are encouraged to take part in fun activities that support their physical, creative and social development in a safe and supervised environment.
Physical and creative play is at the heart of everything we do, with an emphasis on making the most of our multi-activity play environment with arts, crafts, games and outdoor sports to help our children make the most of our play and development opportunities.
We know how important healthy nutrition is for children and offer healthy snacks including fresh fruit and vegetables, with water and milk always available.

OUR HISTORY
Founded in 1975 by Jerry Williams, the first black mayor of Camden, Talacre continues to be a thriving hub for the community to enjoy. Like many Commonwealth citizens, Jerry came to Britain in 1956 from Barbados to help rebuild the UK after the ravages of war.
That generation had to cope with a cold climate and an often cold reception in a country in which racial prejudice was rife. But they tackled the discrimination head on and made a massive contribution to this country.
Jerry certainly made a massive contribution to Camden and the Talacre Open Space, of which the Play Centre is at the heart, is a lasting memorial to his efforts.
Today we continue to honour this legacy through provision of recreational facilities for the younger generations of Camden residents who came after him.
